She’s too sexy for her leaves…
My love for daylilies runs deep. It might even be on my genetic code.
This is the common daylily Stella D’Oro. I have clumps of it everywhere.
It’s a low-growing, prolific bloomer of bright yellow blooms.
It will grow in full sun, half sun, half shade. Aren’t those last two the same?
It will thrive in clay soil, loamy soil, wet soil, dry soil.
She’s a clumper. She’s a keeper.
Thrive, baby, thrive.

Last night, I went to see Edward Burtynsky’s documentary, Watermark. (2013, Jennifer Baichwal and Edward Burtynsky). Burtynsky is a renowned Canadian photographer known for his photographic chronicling of global industrial landscapes. Watermark is a stunning, visual mosaic on the theme of how water has shaped humanity and humanity has shaped water.
I have long admired the work of Burtynsky. Watermark blew me away. And if you haven’t seen it yet, I commend it to you.
